The role of Global Directors within Barenbrug

Global Directors add value within their functional area, by directing and/or overseeing activities in the operating companies that contribute to the corporate and local strategies. They identify areas of excellence and areas needing development. Their role is to connect people across the global Barenbrug organization to capitalize on these areas of excellence. Furthermore, new initiatives are launched for development areas and directed by the Global Directors. This will combine internal and, where necessary, external expertise. Bringing in new capabilities and developing the skills of our existing employees is key. The Global Directors are the main scouts for new global developments, supported by the local leaders in their functional areas and assess their value for Barenbrug. Areas of responsibility and accountability are defined more specifically in the RACIs.

Impact

Global Directors ensure that Barenbrug makes the best use of the local capabilities and skills across the globe. They do so by creating a ‘functional area community’ that interacts frequently, both online and offline, to ensure that Barenbrug creates additional value and leverage by utilizing the key strength of the functional area in line with the strategy.

The Global Marketing Director is responsible to drive Marketing excellence throughout Barenbrug with creating market pull, realised through brand recognition and strong (novel) end user focused solutions, as most important principle. The function is focused on value creation and capturing added value for the end user, our value chain partners and ourselves. The Global Marketing Director directs the company’s market and brand strategy.

 

The Global Marketing Director works closely with the operational companies on local marketing and product portfolio management plans.

 

The Global Marketing Director works closely with the Innovation and Development professionals to realize added value for targeted end-user segments.

Tasks

  • Manages the global brand strategy
  • Guides local Branding by OPCO’s
  • Develop and implement the Sustainability communication strategy
  • Analyse and optimize global marketing spend
  • Direct the corporate communication
  • Stimulate & coordinate the internal communication
  • Support OPCO teams with Marketing knowledge
  • Challenge OPCO teams on Marketing plans, product introductions, pricing, budget etc.
  • Facilitate the sharing of best practises
  • Create and manage Marketing and Portfolio management metrics/KPI’s
  • Stay at the forefront of new developments in the arena of Marketing and Portfoliomanagement.

Profile

  • Inspiring and creative personality who gets things done

  • Conceptual and strategic thinker knowing how to put things in practice
  • Thorough understanding of the agricultural sector
  • University level, either through study or through experience
  • Experienced with change management
  • Proven record and experience in Marketing (10+ years )
  • Fluent in English and possibly second language
  • Experienced with working in an international environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally, approximately once a month
